Wintertime Rains

May wintertime rains
Falling horizontally
Making a ruckus
Like a hundred children playing
Drown the voices within.
May their chill air cool you down
And their moisture soothe your skin.
In puddles at your feet
That turn to wild roaring rivers
And run down to the sea
May the wintertime rains
Carry away your miseries
Past your heart, past your life
And lose them in the ocean's depths.
When at last the clouds thin
And the desert flowers bloom
May your patience
Be your reward
As you open, beautiful
Sparkling in the morning sun
Petals of indigo blue
Trimmed by the palest of green
Like a bride at wedding.

I wrote this on February 13 for Trishanna after the white camel incident.
